Big Ducky Dew (Dewey): 1/2 Thoroughbred, 1/2 Appaloosa Gelding
Image: Dewey
On the night of Saturday December 18, 2004, Dewey passed away. He struggled to overcome a chronic abscess in his hoof for over a year. Many times we thought he was winning the battle, but we believe that it had become cancerous. We decided to let him live as long as he was still able to get around, and as long as he seemed happy, which he did. He lived his last few months on a nice pasture, and recieved (and gave) a lot of love. On December 18th, Dewey laid down and went to sleep. We all loved Dewey very much and will miss him dearly.
He competed at barrels, poles, keyhole, flags, and other fun gymkhana sports.
Dewey won highpoint for the adult age group at the National Association For Women In Construction Gymkaha in September 2003.
Dewey was an excellent trail mount.

Dewey was proudly owned by my mother (Pam Peters).
She is pictured above with my cousin Tracy, who loves to come to Edoras Stables and ride.

Dewey loved to run. I am glad he is able to run again with all of our beloved horses who have gone to meet us at the Rainbow Bridge.

This is a poem my niece Skylar wrote about Dewey after he died:
My Horse Dewey
by
Skylar Sullivan
My horse Dewey is the sweetest horse
And he went through a terrible course
Oh what pain he had to face
As we tried to solve this mysterious case
Oh how hard we tried
That old Dew slept and died.

He's saying, "Where's my supper?"
That sweet old face will be dearly missed.
Image: Chamonix
Our beloved farm dog Chamonix passed on June 30, 2005. She had gotten a tumor in her leg which then spread through her entire body. She would have been 13 in September, so she lived a long happy life hear at our farm. She will be greatly missed and always loved. She is now waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge.
